Finland i sommar

My youngest brother is getting married in August, so we are going to Finland again this summer. I'm going with Edith on July 15, and Weslie leaves two weeks later. We are all coming back on August 12th. We are excited to get to see family and friends again soon.

Austin - Conference trip

Two weeks ago we made the trip down to Austin so that I could attend a theological conference. My mom and cousin and family were also there.

Various things

This was our first asparagus harvest. We get about this much every week now.

Edith got new PJs, which she was wild about:

I built a little sandbox yesterday, and Edith went nuts:

We ate the first of our swiss chard for lunch today. Sauteed with garlic and vinegar:

Summer ice cream

Well…not really. She did get to suck on the sticks from our ice cream though:

She also made her way into her little pool:

Easter Sunday

Here is our family picture from Easter. It was hard to get everyone to look:

Kristina made Edith's cute Easter dress:

Edith's first Easter egg hunt:

This was also her first taste of chocolate (or that much sugar). She didn't know what to do:

We had a really nice evening meal on Easter with new friends, the Townes (Richard and Kyle). This is a picture of their beautiful daughter, Irene:

Downtime in Dallas

Due to the generous gifts of some friends and family, Kristina and I were able to spend a relaxing two days in a nice part of Dallas while my parents were still in town. It was SO relaxing that we got hardly any pictures. We did stay in a very nice bed and breakfast, and have a really great evening at Trinity Hall Irish Pub. We listened to traditional Irish music, and had some great food and beer. Thank you for all who made this possible.
